Failure to collect policy 

As a registered childminder I aim to be flexible and accommodate parents/carers situations. I understand that there are some situations where parents/carers will be late collecting their child. However, I have a responsibility under the EYFS to continue to safeguard the child, for this reason I have the following procedure in place.

 

In the incident of late collection:

  • I will attempt to contact all parents/carers and both emergency contacts.

  • I will reassure the child and continue to look after them safely.

  • After a period of one hour I will attempt to contact the parents/carers and emergency contacts again.

  • If I am unable to contact someone after ……………… (time to be agreed with parent/carer) I will contact childrens social care and/or the police for advice. I will follow any advice they give to me and make records.

 

 

My main concern is that your child is safely cared for and reassured at all times.
